Got a smart phone? Involved with social media? WE NEED YOU!
We are planning to live stream portions of the 6970 ALL STAR Conference on social media. We are looking for Rotarians who are outgoing and active on social media to serve on the Blast Crew to broadcast live the activities during the June 9 conference.
Correspondents will Live Stream the Conference using their smart phones with a little help from Blast Crew Director Rotarian Dan Bagan from iAugiStudios. The BLAST Crew will cover Red Carpet interviews, broadcast sessions and awards. Crew members get backstage credentials, be recognized by DG Marshall Butler and have full access to the All Star Conference speakers.
This is a chance to expand your skills in social media live streaming. We'll even provide training and the latest tips and tricks. Plus we'll provide equipment to ensure the audio and video quality of our All Star Broadcasts delivers a memorable experience to those who can't attend.
Two FULL days of Rotary fun, fellowship and surprises!
Rotarians from across District 6970 will board charter buses at regional locations. We are looking for sponsors and plan to include snacks and beverages to make your trip to Atlanta a time of fun and fellowship with fellow Rotarians. ATLANTA OR BUST!
Welcome to Atlanta! We will have a team of friendly faces ready to greet you and help you check-in to the hotel, as well as the All Star Conference. As a special bonus, if you purchased a combo registration, when you check-in for the All Star Conference you will also receive your credentials for the Rotary International Convention. What will you do with all of the free time?
After you pick up your registration materials and drop your bags off in your room, head down to the All Star Hospitality Suite to relax before we head out for the Foundation Centennial Celebration!
After getting settled in, relaxing for a bit and maybe enjoying some fellowship in the hospitality suite, we will hop back on the buses to head out for our Foundation Centennial Celebration. We are currently exploring several options, but you can be sure it will be a fun time with fellow Rotarians as we celebrate 100 years of doing good in the world!
If you were unable to pick up your registration materials on Thursday afternoon, the check-in process will continue on Friday. Pick up your All Star Conference Materials in addition to your International Convention credentials.
This is it! The big event! What we've been waiting for all year and where we celebrate the hard work of all of the Rotary clubs in District 6970. The day will start with a buffet breakfast. The day will be jam packed with All Star speakers that are sure to inspire, entertain and inform. At lunch, we will enjoy a plated meal and a brief awards ceremony. It's the big show and we are going to have a great time as we reflect on our success.
Because it is important to pace yourself, take advantage of this break in the action to relax in the Hospitality Suite with your friends before we begin the countdown to the start of the 2017 Rotary International Convention when the clock hits midnight.
There will be dueling pianos. There will be food and drink. There will be surprises. There won't be a crystal ball dropping at midnight, but we will have a very festive star as the clock strikes midnight and the 2017 Rotary International Convention is officially underway.
What makes this gathering special
One hundred years ago, at the 1917 Rotary Convention in Atlanta, Rotary President Arch Klumph proposed creating an endowment “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” From the first contribution of $26.50, the Foundation has grown significantly and has spent more than $3 billion on programs and projects. Now let’s celebrate in the city where it all began. We’ll look back proudly over a century of “doing good in the world” — and look ahead to the challenges Rotary will tackle in the century to come.
The All Star Conference House of Friendship will allow clubs to display and promote their local or international projects or other activities.
In addition to the District Hospitality Suite, every night we will have a Hospitality Suite sponsored by the District 6970 Rotary Means Business Fellowship.
Your conference registration fee will include an exclusive All Star shirt that we will all wear on the opening day of the International Convention to demonstrate the mighty power of District 6970!
Each morning during the week, we will have a private dining room where we can grab a bite to eat and fellowship before heading to the convention center.
An All Star line-up of motivating and inspiring speakers!

Rotarians are naturally inquisitive
And they ask lots of questions. Lots and lots of questions. So as we receive questions about the All Star Conference, we are going to append them to this list.
This list is going to be REALLY long.
The All Star Conference fee includes the Foundation Centennial Celebration on Thursday night. It includes a voucher for a buffet breakfast on Friday. You will be able to attend all general and breakout sessions on Friday featuring All Star speakers. We will have a plated lunch on Friday. The All Star Conference will be capped off with a Countdown to the Convention gala on Friday night which will have entertainment, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Plus you will receive an exclusive All Star shirt to wear to the International Convention on June 11 showing you are a Rotary All Star from District 6970.
Rotary International has set aside a limited block of hotel rooms exclusively for Rotary District 6970 at the Downtown Atlanta Sheraton. These rooms are available as part of the All Star Conference registration process. When you register for the All Star Conference, you will have the chance to reserve a room by selecting check-in and check-out dates.
If you registered for the International Convention on the official Rotary website and not the All Star Conference website and you would like to reserve a room in the official District 6970 hotel block at the Sheraton Downtown Atlanta, please send an email to email@example.com and we will assist you with a reservation.
Yes, but not until October 2016. At that time we will request a deposit for 2 nights. Deposits not paid by the end of November will result in a cancellation of your room reservation.
We currently project registration fees to be $650 starting July 1. This will be influenced by two factors. First, the number of Rotarians who take advantage of one of the early bird promotions. Two, the final pricing provided by the event venues. Because Rotary is offering the same convention fee for Rotaractors, Interactors and guests under 19 through December 16, we recommend they wait until after June 30 to register.
Registration fees for the All Star Conference and International Convention will be the same for all attendees age 19 and over UNLESS they are a Non-Rotarian Alumnus, Rotaractor. In that case, we recommend you wait until after June 30 to register them because fees will be discounted.
If you are interested in traveling to Atlanta on June 8 hassle free on a chartered bus, you will have the opportunity to reserve a seat when registering for the All Star Conference. Based on feedback, we expect the need to charter several buses. However, we do reserve the right to provide refunds in case there is insufficient demand. We also plan to offer return trips on Monday, June 12, Tuesday, June 13 and Wednesday, June 14. Again, the ability to offer staggered return trips will be contingent on participation.
Yes! Registration fees for attendees age 5-18 to attend the International Convention are only $10. We are currently working on District Conference family packages for our younger guests. Pricing and details for these packages will be available after July 1. We recommend that adults register immediately to take advantage of the special early bird pricing, and add the rest of the family once the packages are ready.
The biggest benefit is you will be enjoying two outstanding events celebrating a successful year of Rotary! You will start with a conference 100% focused on the achievements of Rotary District 6970. Then you will have a chance to see the magnitude of Rotary globally as you meet Rotarians from around the world, hear more inspirational speakers and see the impact Rotary has on communities. In addition to these benefits, when you check-in to the hotel for the All Star Conference and International Convention, we will provide you with your credentials for the week. No standing in line to pick up badges. Yeah!
Yes! Please register for the International Convention on this website. We will have your credentials at the hotel when you check-in.
Please send an email to the All Star Conference Organizing Committee to reserve your spot.
